How The Uncharted Games and Naughty Dog Have Influenced My Gaming

I am just eagerly awaiting the last chapter of Uncharted “A Thief’s end” to get there in the post, knowing full well I’m not actually going to play until sometime tonight… While my son chews on my PS4 controller when i put this along (I’ve stopped 3 times on this paragraph already to protect my right trigger from his growing collection teeth! ). Yet this whole thing has me in a reflecting mood as I knew Uncharted games have acquired such a positive effect on my gaming in the previous generation, and so have Naughty Doggie with their astounding capability to develop action adventure video games that, for me, are the best you can play.

You may think this is merely another Ps gamer gushing over an exclusive game, but my journey with Uncharted actually started as an Xbox 360 system 360 gamer, who was playing happily away on the Gears of Conflict series (that I love and will be participating in number 4 asap too) plus other great game titles when my girlfriend at the moment – now mother of said control pad gnawing son and his big sister – proved your woman was your woman of my dreams when your woman bought me a PS3 SLIM for my Birthday (an age I’d happily operate my next Birthday for! ).

So what was the game I put in first? Well, I actually picked up Metal Items Solid 4 and Uncharted knowing both were exclusives I’d missed being on the Xbox. Next thing I’m flipping a gold coin to decide my fortune and Uncharted won away… I barely researched from the screen for few days.

It blew myself away with everything it did, it was the full package of everything I enjoyed in game playing, I continued to play through all the Uncharted games at the earliest opportunity and We’ve not looked back since.

Uncharted Territory

The original title did so many things well, however, remastered version, which we examined still stands out as a great title. There was stunning visuals and surroundings that had you using platforming mechanics, executed in a manner that really makes every jump feel a real grasp for survival. Action that competitors Gears of War that I’d enjoyed so much, but best of all; a real sense of action movie adrenaline with characters and story that made the game the full package for myself.

And this was the particular first game; the sequels – which I am going to find out more about soon – took this to the next level. But like any great film series or catalogs, games which may have great sequels start from ambitious novice that may well not be perfect, nevertheless they really push the genre to the next level in what they make an effort to do. The original Uncharted mixed dough for myself and I’ll never forget it fondly.

An introduction to both Nathan Drake and Nolan North’s ability as a voice actor for gaming also came with the first game. Probably something we take more for granted the series days, but the words acting of the character types in the Uncharted game titles is merely as important as the other elements of Naughty Dog’s creation. Nolan has made a quantity of characters awesome, one of my other likes being the lead in Spec Ops The Collection as Captain Walker, an amazing game that everyone fond of the third person shooter should play.

Nevertheless Nate is his best performance (although my child may say he’s decent in Blaze and The Monster Machines too) and he’s made the personality one of the better in gaming, why?

Well because you like him but he’s somewhat of an idiot almost all of the time. He’s not a typical hero and while he’s not exactly an anti-hero like Joel from The Last individuals – which I will get to later on in the article – he just makes some stupid decisions, and gets himself in a right mess almost all of the time. But can make him familiar as a personality and only makes his tale better for me, especially as the series moves along.

But you may be wondering what also does indeed it for me is the supporting cast with Sully, played so properly by Richard McGonagle, strikes the supporting role correctly alongside Nate along with a well created female character types too played by Emily Rose and Claudia African american. This just gets better as the sequels come in and more of Drake’s past becomes better.

That can be said for the action, visuals and action-movie feel to the game as the series goes on too. Just like most gamers I would admit second game, Between Thieves is the best of the Uncharted video games. I’m not going to have a huge fight with anyone who says 3 was the best as it was amazing, the airplane series followed by the wasteland scene being one of my favourite occasions in gaming. But for myself, the action, platforming and overall feel of Drake’s story in the second game is the best to date.

But then, We haven’t played 4 as I write this (day one patch happens to be downloading as We ready this information! ) and I have a this is going to hit me away. I avoid spoilers and reviews generally while i want to play something just as much as this game, but the words “Naughty Dog’s best game” has recently been said that is certainly one hell of a statement.
